In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~ John Muir

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA baby pinecone 5 6I’m in my home town for a two week visit to help out my Mom. It feels good to be ‘home’ for two whole weeks, I can settle in. I’ve been in heaven hiking the town forest trails, there is such a strong scent of pine needles and leaves composting, it is so intoxicating, I love that organic dirt smell combined with the sweetness of cedar, scent is so¬†evocative!

A few of my other favorites are –

  • the way my hands smell after peeling an orange
  • fresh cut grass
  • a puppy snuggling up to my face
  • incense – my favorite is this lemon grass/frankincense¬†
  • a cup of hot chocolate

Now I’m in the mood for hot chocolate ~ off to find some.

Do you surround yourself with scents you love ?

What are some of your favs?
