Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again. ~ Joseph Campbell
These gorgeous giant ferns are in the National AIDS Memorial Grove at the Golden Gate Park in San Fran. If you’re going to SF – put this park on the top of your TO-DO list, it’s fantastic. The lovingly cared for memorial is a large beautiful section that inspires slow walking and encourages you to sit and rest quietly on a bench or a rock. It’s a very sacred space. I was reading about the grove on-line and this comment sums it up ”Even loud kids quiet down when they’re here. No one needs to tell them; they just do.”
There is so much more to do and see at this huge park, my next favorite section was the SF botanical gardens I’ll sort and share those photos later. I have so many summer photos to edit and put together in just the right collection … with the perfect quote and perhaps write a bit :) It’s exhausting and exhilarating and it may take me a long time to even come close to catching up. I have some work projects that I’m finally getting on top of and they will keep me from posting as much as I want to!! I’m so glad I’m finally willing to give up being timely here.
Summer time is slipping away… I enjoy the fall but I’m such a warm weather girl and I usually wish the summer would last and last, but since June, July, and August have been so emotionally wrought this year for so many big and small reasons, part of me is so relieved the tide is turning. As the season wraps up so is my grief.
The last couple of days I’ve been feeling such a depth gratitude … all of you have held space and helped me get through so much. Even if it’s just a visit here with out a comment, your visit inspires me to create MORE and that keeps me healthy.
